Six Day Trip up the Potaro River to Kaieteur Falls and Chena

Overview

Our most popular tour includes an opportunity to explore the gold and diamond mining sites near Mahdia in central Guyana, a two-day boat trip up the beautiful Potaro River to specatualar Kaieteur Falls, after which we will will continue up the Potaro river to iChenapou Village, a small village where we will have the opportunity to experience the life of the local Patamona people.


Join us on an immersive journey into the lush jungles of Guyana, where you'll experience diverse wildlife, vibrant plant life, and unspoiled natural beauty. Our expert guides will lead you through pristine rainforests, sharing insights into the local flora and fauna and local Amerindian people, ensuring a memorable adventure that connects you with nature on a profound level.

Day 1

Drive to Mahdia town, located in central Guyana, and visits to nearby gold and diamond mining sites. 

Day 2

Drive to Pamela Landing on the Potaro River, where we will take a boat trip to the Amatuk Falls, one of nine scenic falls along the Potaro River, where we will spend the day exploring the rapids and the surrounding lush rainforest.

Day 3

Boat trip up the beautiful Potaro River to Tuckite Falls (??) spend the day fishing and cbird watching and cooking fresh fish. Stay at ????

Day 4

Climb up the Kaieteur Mountain up to the Falls where we will spend the day exploring the area of the falls. Stay at the Kaieteur Guest House.

Day 5

Boat trip up the Potaro River to to the Amerindian village of Chenapau where we spend the day experiencing the life of the indigenous Amerindian people, eating and drinking Amerindian dishes like cassava bread, tuma pot, and cassareep wine. We will see stay at the new Chenapou Village Guest House.

Day 6

Continue our stay in Chenapou with more opportunities for wildlife viewing, and visiting local attractions like the Kulun Kwaik Falls sand nearby diamond mines. Take flight back to Georgetown from Chenapou Village.
